Some of the most important parts of our city are at risk

From big economic assets like the new water company or the ports right down to our swimming pools, parks and libraries. They are at risk if the new Auckland Super City Council wants to get rid of them, and it could be under pressure from ACT party leader and Local Government Minister Rodney Hide who is an advocate of privatisation and cutting back the role of councils to roads, rubbish and water.

No one trusts Rodney Hide to look after our assets. That is why Phil Twyford’s anti-asset selling bill puts them firmly into the hands of Aucklanders by requiring a referendum before they can be sold.

You can help save Auckland’s assets by showing your support for this campaign and sending a message to Auckland’s National MPs urging them to vote for Phil Twyford’s bill.
